Elephone P9000: The world’s first smartphone with Deca-core chip


A Chinese mobile company ‘Elephone’ is set to launch a smartphone named Elephone P9000 which will  be the world’s first smartphone to have MediaTek’s Deca-core CPU.
According to a leak on a Chinese website, local manufacturer Elephone may be the first to launch a device featuring MediaTek’s recently announced Helio X20 SoC with a deca-core CPU.
The Chinese mobile company is likely to field this revolutionary device in October 015.
MediaTek had officially launched its deca-core Helio X20 chip for mobile back in May,
Deca-core Helio X20 chip were launched in May by MediaTek, the chips are especially designed for smartphones, which features a tri-cluster CPU configuration that included two Cortex A72 clocked at 2.5GHz and eight Cortex A53 cores, of which four clocked at 2.0GHz and four at 1.4GHz.
The expected launch of Helio X20 has caused an uncertainty among experts; many are questioning its performance and energy consumption.
The P9000 is expected to come with a price tag of $500 at the time of release and is scheduled to launch in various regions on October 20.
