OnePlus 3 Specifications and Release Details
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has always been known for providing top of the line hardware specs at pocket-friendly rates. Its self-acquired title of ‘Flagship Killer’ also proved true to an extent for its last year’s flagship device OnePlus 2. That was months back and now the rumour mill is already abuzz with the upcoming OnePlus flagship, OnePlus 3.
Although OnePlus launches its flagship devices during summer, but according to GizmoChina, OnePlus 3 will get officially unveiled on April 7 likely at an event in Beijing, China. However, a new report coming from Android Authority claims that OnePlus spokesperson has contacted them and confirmed that the April 7 event is focused on China market, and they are not unveiling their next OnePlus smartphone device on the day.
According to a leaked AnTuTu benchmark listing, the OnePlus 3 will be powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset along with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. There’s no confirmation on microSD card slot, but considering the previous OnePlus flagships it seems unlikely and the OnePlus 3 is expected to come in different internal storage variants.
OnePlus 3 will reportedly sport a 5.5-inch capacitive display, but the much-expected QHD resolution still seems off the cards as the device will most likely have an FHD display.
The upcoming OnePlus flagship will sport a 16MP rear shooter and an 8MP front-facing camera. More details regarding the camera features aren’t available as of now, but OnePlus places a huge focus on the camera of its devices, so we can expect an impressive camera.
The device will run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS with OnePlus’ own Oxygen OS on top. This smartphone was listed in the AnTuTu benchmark under the codename ‘OnePlus A3000’.
We hope that the device will be announced in the 3rd quarter of this year, so there is a long time in between, and anything can change until the release. So it is advised to take the details with a pinch of salt until we get some concrete information.
